EGO  is a nature 'mockumentary' about "the trumpet player" as a stock character, making fun of its many unfortunate (yet arguably deserved) stereotypes. This satirical work intends to provide an outlet for trumpet players to reflect on these generalizations and have fun laughing about the ridiculousness of it all. Additionally (and perhaps ironically), this piece is designed to showcase some of the unique capabilities of the instrument and to highlight its significance within just a few of its countless musical homes: jazz big band, military bugle calls, and Western classical music.
